3 Things to avoid if you want your canopy to last

Share:

At KD Kanopy, our canopies are built to last and it’s not uncommon for us to hear from a customer that they’ve been using the same canopy for over a decade. But even still, there are a few things you can do that could cut down on the life of your new canopy. Avoid these mistakes and you will have a canopy that stands the test of time.

  • Pooling water. When it rains, it pours. Our canopies can stand a light rain, but the fabric is not water resistant. That means it’s best to not leave your canopy unattended when it rains; if the water is allowed to pool up, the weight of it could damage your frame.

  • Leaving it for days. As the name implies, our pop up canopies are meant to be put up with minimal hassle. The same goes for taking it down. These tents were not made to withstand Mother Nature for days on end. If you plan on using it at a multi-day trade show, do yourself and your canopy a favor: take it down at the end of the day.

  • Excessive wind. While you can’t predict wind gusts, you can usually get a forecast on how windy any given day will be. If the forecast calls for wind, it might not be the best day for your canopy. A sudden gust of wind could tear your canopy top.

Take these simple care instructions to heart and your KD Kanopy tent will last for years and years to come. And as always, the KD Kanopy customer support team is always here to help and answer any questions.
