DO Post This, DON’T Post That: NYE Social Media Tips for Your Business

Share:

With less than 3 days before 2016 becomes history, it’s time to get your business’s social media party started. Today we want to share some DOs and DONTs to keep in mind when posting to your business’s social media accounts during the most tweeted, Facebook-posted, Instagramed, Tumblered night of the entire year, New Year’s Eve.

DO a theme.Focus your NYE social media around a theme that is specific to a party you are having or an event your business will be at, not just a NYE theme. By word of mouth, this should bring people back to your site and ignite more conversations.

DON’T just post to one account. Make sure you are coordinating to your social media posts on all of your social media platforms including Facebook, Twiter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. For more tips on how to keep your social media accounts organized check this out.

DO wish your customers/fans/clients a Happy New Year and DO it from your heart. The more real and genuine your post, the better. Let them know what you are hoping for them in the year ahead, don’t just post a stock photo.

DON’T post any photos of you and your family/friends out on NYE if you have been enjoying too many adult beverages. This sends an unprofessional vibe & people are likely to see you and your business in a different way.  It’s not worth it.

DO be creative with your email subject linesStand out from the rest of your competition with subject lines that promote special offers, create last minute sales or wish your audience a Happy New Year.  Our friends at Vertical Response show you some of their favorites here.

DON’T forget to mention what is coming up for your business in the New Year. This is a good time to mention new products & services, updated hours, price changes, etc. If you keep your customers in the know, there is no reason they won’t be coming back to your business in 2017.

From all of us at KD Kanopy to all of you, Happy New Year. We are looking forward to helping you put your business in front of people in 2017!
