Client: Andrew Wright
Company: Organic Valley Farms
Product: Organic Dairy Products
Goal: Client has started attending more outdoor and indoor events and wanted a canopy with printing so that they would stand out from the crowd.
Need Assessment: Client had decided on a 10x10 canopy, but they did not want to look the same as everyone else that was exhibiting; they needed the canopy to fit in with their product and give them that unique look that would identify them with what they do.
Solution: We purchased one of their milk cartons and cut the top off; we then looked at the dimensions of the carton compared to the 10x10 canopy. We suggested building a customized top frame that would attach to a modified 10x10 that would make the canopy look like a milk carton. With the addition of digital graphics we could print the canopy to exactly match the carton.
Plan: The 10x10 frame had to have holes cut through the corner fittings to accept the new frame legs, we then had to build special aluminum legs that would give the top the milk carton feel. After the top frame was built we used L-shaped rods that would attach to the top of the new frame to make a tab like a milk carton. Once the frame was complete we had to build a special top that would tension as the frame extended and that would accept the tab on top.
Results: The finished canopy looked fantastic, the client was very happy and received many compliments from show attendees. They ordered three canopies and this year, they are ordering three more so that they can expand their presence here in Colorado.
Resolved Issues: Since the canopies were custom made and each part was to fit a particular canopy, some of the parts were broken when interchanged. To resolve this issue, we beefed up all welds on the custom frame and engraved each part to coincide with the frame it fitted. This was done at minimal cost to the client and will ensure years of worry free use. |
